A new accidental beach emerged along the North Saskatchewan River and near the Cloverdale neighbourhood in 2017 and 2018. It emerged due to LRT construction of the Tawatinâ LRT bridge, an existing sandbar downstream, low water levels and flow.

Although short in duration, the beach was a popular destination for citizens.

The City is unsure whether the beach will re-emerge in 2021. Online notifications will be updated to reflect its condition.
