We’re excited to announce that the City of Edmonton is again offering indoor and outdoor fitness programs!
Outdoor programs will be located in greenspaces adjacent to City of Edmonton Community Recreation Centres. Indoor programs will be located inside of the City of Edmonton Community Recreation Centres: Clareview, Commonwealth (Stadium), Kinsmen Sports Centre, Terwillegar, and The Meadows.
Pre-registration is required for outdoor programs. Indoor programs are drop-in and no registration is required.
Participants can cancel (remove their registration from a class), with no penalty, up to one hour prior to the start of the class time. Participants can cancel their upcoming reservations within the "Appointment" section of their MoveLearnPlay account, or by calling 311.
The City of Edmonton may cancel classes due to inclement weather.
Participants will be notified via email a minimum of 2 hours prior to class time if inclement weather occurs more than 2 hours prior to class
The instructor will determine if the class will be cancelled if the inclement weather occurs between the two-hour window prior to class, up until the end of the class
Refunds will automatically be put on the participant’s City of Edmonton account in these instances
If your class is cancelled, you will receive a pre-recorded group fitness class of a similar format of the cancelled class
Before You Visit
Please do not attend our fitness programs if you:
are feeling ill and/or experiencing any of the following symptoms: cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose or sore throat
have experienced any of the above symptoms in the last 10 days
have, within the last 14 days, returned home from travel outside of Canada or been in contact with someone who has traveled outside of Canada and/or tested positive for COVID-19
Participants are required to register in advance for all outdoor classes through MoveLearnPlay or by calling 311. Anyone that is not registered will not be allowed to participate.
Registration will open one week prior to the class. Participants must provide an email address when registering.
Registration will be available up until one hour prior to the start of class
Indoor classes are drop-in and do not require pre-registration
Space and equipment may be limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis
Schedule is subject to change
Participants will be asked to sanitize equipment before and after use
Participants should bring their own yoga mat or towel for all classes (except Zumba)
Participants should bring their own labelled water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray and dress for the weather for all outdoor classes
For Yin Yoga classes, participants are encouraged to bring their own blanket, towel and/or bolster, as bolsters will not be available
When arriving for class, please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes
Upon arrival at outdoor classes, check-in with the Instructor
Find a spot and get yourself set up
Important! Avoid clustering in groups, even though you may be excited to see your friends again
Please arrive early enough to ensure that class can start on time
Health and Safety Measures
Participants should wash their hands prior to heading out to class and again as soon as possible following class
The use of individual antibacterial hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol is recommended
You are encouraged to bring your own alcohol-based sanitizer
Washrooms will be available on location
Personal items should not be shared
A sweat towel is recommended to help avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or into your elbow when coughing or sneezing
Do not spit
While we want to foster a positive environment and for you to encourage your fellow fitness classmates, please do not high-five them and ensure you are always respecting their personal space
